Q.    Just what does ‘normal’ feel like and how will I know when I’m emotionally free?     Doreen H.

A.    We were all born new and emotionally free.   However, society’s norms, pressures and beliefs have twisted many of us into individuals who do not know or appreciate our worth as equals to everyone else.

Unhappiness is described in many ways:  a ‘pit’ in one’s stomach; a persistent ‘sinking’ feeling; feeling hopeless, victimized by life, never ‘good enough’; feeling held back in life; doing and saying things that one doesn’t mean or feel, dependency on others/substances,  low self-worth, and feeling unsafe.

‘Normal’ is whatever state of being that the person themselves deems to be happy, self-fulfilling and satisfying. What society thinks ‘normal’ is, is irrelevant.  This probably sounds like common sense, however, how many of us make decisions every day based on what others think, might think and do think about us?

You know you are emotionally free when you:

* feel consistently content and accepting of yourself regardless of unpleasant life circumstances;
* feel in control of your life; unpleasant emotions are naturally released;
* regardless your station or purpose in life, have an abundance of self-acceptance, self-esteem and self-respect, feeling permanently lighter, happier, optimistic and well;
* no longer feel driven to ‘prove’ yourself;
* are free of persistent negative feelings- your behavior consistently reflects your belief in yourself as good;

Q.     Should I eat butter or margarine or ???         Don E.

A.    As part of my Weight Management Program, I delve deeply into these very issues.  You decide:

* margarine is one molecule away from being the plastic tub it comes in and shares 27 ingredients with paint;  left out on the counter, not even mould can grow on it.
* butter from dairy sources typically contain lots of salt, artificial coloring and additives
* what you need are excellent sources of Omega Oils to keep your brain and tissues happy and healthy
* The best sources of Omega Oils (in this butter/margarine topic) are pure, unprocessed oils like Extra virgin Olive Oil, cold-pressed Coconut Oils, etc…used in baking, frying or any cooking, spread on bread or used as bread dips.
* Buttery spreads made of natural oils mixed together look like and essentially taste like butter, but are healthy, free of additives and hydrogenation and easily digested. Check them out at any reputable health food store.
* If any oil is subjected to extreme heat or processed, the oil becomes hydrogenated and damaging and you may as well just eat the margarine(or the plastic tub).
* Cold-pressed and virgin oils don’t make you fat; margarine, butter and lard do. Good Oils feed you; margarine and hydrogenated products hurt you.

Yes,  good quality natural oils are a little more expensive, but it’s pay now or pay later.  As the saying goes, ‘garbage in, garbage out’…if you don’t take care now, illness will cost you big time.

Q.    I can’t seem to get rid of my sad and worried feelings no matter what I try.  Can hypnotherapy help me?       ~D.C.

A.    The mind, body and emotions are all connected…typically there is a significant positive result with Hypnotherapy. I see no reason that it would not work for you too as Hypnotherapy helps normal people with normal problems of everyday life.

Q. My naturopath said that microwaved food is unhealthy and dangerous.  What do you think bout the dangers of microwave ovens?   A. Anthony Wayne & Laurence Newell, in their report “The Hidden Hazards of Microwave Cooking proved  that microwave convenience is indeed very dangerous.  They explain why the Soviet Union banned the use of microwave ovens in 1976.   A recent CTV news reported a link to cancer.
